Mars on Earth

After the long final you will have the opportunity to hike in a very special place. The open-pit mines in Gánt produced the greatest volume of bauxite in Europe. By today they have been closed down and it is open to public to explore their magnificent landscapes. Bauxite is used for producing aluminium metal which is a very popular material today still. You can find 3 different mines near Gánt, none of them are more than 5 kilometres away from the city centre, and Gánt is just 10 kilometres away from the Long Final.
