Magical Lake Velence

Lake Velence used to be larger and deeper than it is now: it has dried up 14 times over the last 1500 years. Today, it is the third largest natural lake in Hungary and with water temperatures reaching up to 26-28 Celsius degrees it’s one of the warmest in Europe. Its water is rich in mineral substances, making it the perfect refreshment of your tired body after competing in the World Masters Orienteering Championships. The lake receives more than 2500 sunny hours per year. The WMOC 2021 Event Centre is located in the town of Velence, just a 10-minute walk away from the lake. See you there in August!
